JESSE KODAMA
About Jesse
Jesse Kodama is an actor. He graduated from Boston University School of Theatre in May of 2025, fulfilling his B.F.A. in Theatre Arts - Performance.
Jesse has performed in and collaborated on a variety of productions, ranging in size and age. In Fall of 2023, he made his regional theater debut at the Huntington Theatre in Joshua Harmon’s epic, Prayer for the French Republic, directed by Loretta Greco, and last summer brought his classical chops to the Classic Theatre of Maryland in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
In his final year at BU, Jesse was in a new play, Soft Star by Tina Esper, returning to Boston Playwrights’ Theatre after having been in a workshop of Quantum Eve by Brandon Zang. And in his final semester, he worked on classic plays such as American Buffalo and Richard III. In Spring of 2026 he will be playing the title role in The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh at the Gamm Theatre, directed by Donnla Hughes.

His past characters have ranged from those with a youthful innocence and sincerity, to those with an animalistic fervor who passionately fight tooth & nail for what they believe in and need. He is driven by his belief in the necessity of empathy and his commitment to the lifelong journey to the truth.

Jesse also has an education and experience in directing, which has made him into a well rounded storyteller, and more malleable to honor whatever the director’s vision might be.
He is keen to continue working in film and television, after having worked on several short films at Boston University, A Complete Unknown and Apple TV'sYour Friends and Neighbors.
